The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA), in a press statement on Tuesday, denied reports that it had suspended the mountaineering expedition to Mt. Everest and called dissemination of such information as totally false.
The press statement claimed that the ministry had not banned climbing expeditions to Mt. Everest or other Himalayan peaks, maintaining the policy related to mountaineering expeditions remained very much the same.
Issuing the statement, MoCTCA spokesperson joint secretary Prem Kumar Rai requested the media to clarify any information regarding the ministry with him before publishing it.
