Mount Kailash and Manasarovar Lake is located in the Himalayan mountain ranges of the remote Southwestern corner of Tibet. Walking around the holy mountain - a part of its official park - has to be done on foot and can also hire a pony or horse. Taking some three days of trekking starting from a height of around 15,000 ft (4,600 m) pass the Tarboche (flagpole) to cross the Drölma pass above 18,200 ft (5,600 m), and encamping for two nights en route. The journey can be started from Kathmandu – Kailash Mansarovar – Kathmandu.
