Kathmandu is an extremely fascinating destination for travelers, scholars, and researchers. The Capital and home to Nepal's only International Airport is a buzzing vibrant place, although like so many capital cities in the developing world it begins to show signs of congestion over the past few years, this hardly detracts from its mystery and celebration of life. Kathmandu valley was divided into three kingdoms less than a century ago. It now contains countless architectural monuments, and vestiges of varied cultural and religious traditions. Kathmandu valley has seen many dynasties and empires come and go, each leaving their own mark on the valley's mystique. Kathmandu valley today incorporates three major settlements, all have their own distinctive character with outstanding temples, works of art and architecture and a varied calendar of feasts and festivals. Kathmandu boast the highest density of World Heritage Sites to be found anywhere in the World, seven in total.

So much history interwoven and sitting strangely in harmony with the modern Kathmandu. Ancient temples in a medieval atmosphere sit side by side with Internet cafes. Old blends with new ways…Welcome to Kathmandu.

      Bhaktapur Durbar Square:

The art and architecture and the special layout here will give you a feeling of inner harmony . The Palace of 55 Windows built during the period of King Bhupatindra Malla in 1754 situated to the left as you enter through the city gate, inspires admiration. The National Art Gallery is also housed inside. The palace entrance, the Golden Gate known as Sunko Dhoka in Nepali is a masterpiece in repousse art. In front of the palace building is a medley of temples of various designs. Amongst the three Durbar Squares in the Valley, the Durbar Square in Bhaktapur is the best preserved one.

      Patan Durbar Square:

It is an enchanting mélange of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples. The former royal palace complex is the center of Patan’s religious and social life, and houses a museum containing an array of bronze statues and religious objects. One remarkable monument here is a 17th century temple dedicated to the Hindu God Krishna – Krishna Mandir built entirely of stone with rare stone carvings on. There are three main courtyards in the palace: Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk and Keshav Narayan Chowk. Mul Chowk, the oldest one, is at the centre of Patan square.Several multi-sized and multi-styled temples occupy the western part of the complex. Main among these are Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple and the Golden Temple of Hiranya Varna.

      Changu Narayan Temple:

It is situated on a ridge overlooking the Valley, about 12 km to the east of the city. It is dedicated to the Hindu God Bishnu – the Preserver. One of the finest and oldest specimens of pagoda architecture, the temple is embellished with exquisite wood and stone carvings and is said to be the oldest pagoda style temple in Nepal built sometime back in 323 A.D. The man-bird statue of Vishnu presents Him in a namaste position with a snake around His neck.

              Great trip to Nepal

Hi, I would love to visit Nepal in 10 years already but I didn't have chance as I always busy . Then this year 2018 we want to visit Nepal, not waiting any more.
We spent 2 weeks visited many places. If you love culture, wild nature Nepal is great place to experience. We were introduced from friend that "A1 Excursion" can take good care of us, bring us excellent experience in our trip. We had some changing in our plan as my knee not strong enough for hiking, mr Rajk organize everything and quick reaction, that's really nice, thanks a lot to mr Rajk. Other thing I would say, you can enjoy great food in Nepal, delicious, organic, tasty food. I would love to visit Nepal again when I have chance, and I would book our tour from A1 Excursion as we have good trip together and become good friend.
