Tamang Heritage Trail trekking is located about 30 kilometers toward the north of Kathmandu. Trekking along this unbeaten trail is a new experience for the trekkers experiencing the beauty of this mountain region with the culture of local people. You were trek through Tamang villages with its life, culture and crafts which have remained untouched from the beginning of the settlement. The trekkers will receive hearty felicitation by the locals rich in their distinct costumes, architecture of their mountain houses and ancient monasteries. It offers you wilderness experience through beautiful landscapes of alpine terrain, flat meadows and 

The main inhabitants of this area are believed to be the descendants of Tibetans from Kerung who intermingled with Tamang of the Helambu area. Tamang communities are generally found on higher elevations with the peasants engaging in shifting cultivation and extraction of forest products. They are mainly sheep and yak herders but grow some hardy grains and vegetables. Their daily life activities include raising livestock, agriculture and trade with Kerung in Tibet. They also make baskets and mats from mountain bamboo. During this trek you can enjoy the dramatic views of Langtang Lirung (7245m.), Langtang Kerung, Chimse Danda ridge crossed by Ganjala Pass (5122m.), Dorje Lakpa (6989m.), Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu and Sanjen Himal ranges.

The trail starts either from Dhunche or Syabrubesi and passes through Goljung, Gatlang, Thuman, Timure, Briddim, Lama Hotel, Langtang valley and Kyangjin Gompa. Goljung, Gatlang and Langtang are traditional Tamang villages culminating cultural features. The visit to beautiful local Tamang monastery and the holy Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang adds exhilaration to your trekking.

We will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport upon your arrival and transfer you to the hotel for the overnight stay.

    You will start early bus journey to Syabrubesi; the starting point of the trek. Behind Trisuli Bazaar the road is tricky because of the grubby road. During the travel you will pass through many small villages on the way will be fascinating you with snippets. Overnight in Syabrubesi (1,440m/4,724ft).
     

      We start after an early breakfast. After an hour and half of ascent from Syabrubesi we reach the view point from where we can see the fantastic view of Ganesh Himal, Gosaikunda range and the Goljang valley. Now we head down to Goljang valley which is an hour walking down hill from the view point. Gatlang the beautiful Tamang village is another 3 hrs walk from Goljang. Overnight at the community lodge.

        This would be the longest day of the entire trip and will take about 7 hours. The walk begins by descending to Thangbuchen (near Chilime village) by the Bhotekoshi River.The Chilime Hydropower dam is situated here. The trail will be ascending up crossing a suspension bridge. Ascent continues until you get to Tatopani which literally means 'hot water', you can cleanse yourself in natural hot springs with bathing areas in the lap of the mountains. Locals believe that the waters have a healing quality that eases away your aches and pains. Dinner and overnight stay at local Tea house.

          Trek and reach at Brimdang village. After lunch the trek continues ascending to Nagthali Danda at 3300m. One can enjoy the view and spend sometime at the top accompanied by tea prepared by the care taker of the Gompa. Trek continues down to Thuman, a Tibetan influenced Tamang village with friendly people who love to sing and dance. Dinner and overnight at local Tea House.

            The trail begin with flatter trail in the beginning and descends to Timure en route to the old trade route to Tibet.Follow the ridge northeast traversing a rocky hillside then descend 640m steeply via Dalphedi to cross the Bhotekoshi River 2 and half hour. From here hike north along the new road for 40 minutes to arrive Timure(1760m), from Timure 45 minutes  side trip on foot along the new Chinese build road to the Tibet border and  the ruins of Rasuwagadi fort built in 1912. Overnight at Timure village.

              After morning breakfast in Timure follow the road downstream for an hour to an easy missed footpath branching left up to Lingling, where food and charming lodging is available at the traditional Lingling homestad. From Lingling its two hours 400m ascent via the pelok view restaurant to Briddim, a scenic Tamang village  decorated with colorful Gompa Over the town and where you will accommodate tonight here. Briddim another Tibetan influenced Tamang village.  The visitor can also observe the local indoor rituals and cultural practices,see the lifestyle, traditions and customs of the people.

                After morning breakfast make quick side trip around Briddim village, visit Gompa, Chorten and trail slightly downhill through pine forest to Sayabrubesi.The trek descends down to Syabrubesi which is just 3hrs walk from Briddim. Lunch and rest of the day is free. Dinner and overnight at Syabrubesi.

                  After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu. After arriving in Kathmandu we take a rest at our hotel or stroll in the streets of Thamel, a popular tourist hub for some souvenir shopping. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner hosted by A1 Excursion  to celebrate the successful completion of our trip. Overnight in Kathmandu

                    Free until the departure. We will drop you at the domestic airport. Fly back to home.
